The DTG2 Smart is designed for the ROV operator who needs ultimate control. It comes complete with 75 Meters (246 ft) of tether, our new Super Bright Screen Controller, robust tether reel, sensor package complete with auto heading and depth, and carrying case.
The DTG2 ROV is the latest in subsea exploration! Powered by on-board rechargeable batteries, this 19.2V system offers many advantages over the typical top side powered ROVs. The 5.0 mm (0.19") diameter tether links the ROV to a custom designed control pad shaped to resemble the ergonomically proven gaming pad. Fly this ROV through the eye of a 700HD color camera and view the world under water .
This DTG2 system does not need any shore power once the batteries are charged. The ROV can be deployed from any location including bridges, shorelines, docks, boats, poolside and more! The patented vertical pitch system allows for unique and exceptional maneuverability.
The sensor package allows the ROV pilot to set auto depth and auto heading, as well as to see water temperature, compass heading, remaining battery, ROV pitch and roll, depth, and camera angle.
Sensors included:
  • Heading (degrees)
  • Depth (meters)
  • Water Temperature (degrees C)
  • Pitch (degrees)
  • Roll  (degrees)
  • Camera Angle (degrees)
  • Turns Counter
  • ROV Hour Counter (hours)
  • Battery Level Controller (%)
  • Battery Level ROV (%)
  • Added ROV Intelligence Auto-Heading
  • Auto-Depth
  • Display Text overlay to live video screen
  • Depth Rating 75m (246 ft)
  • Operating Temperature 0 C to 40 C (32 F -104 F)
  • Warranty 1 year - parts and labour

The DTG2 ROV is constructed to last. The cast aluminum body encases a 360 degree center window allowing for an unprecedented field of view.

High powered rare earth magnetic couplers means there are no dynamic seals on this system, for maximum leak protection.

Well protected 63mm diameter propellers prevent debris from binding the output shaft.

The very safe battery-operated 19.2 VDC onboard electrical system reduces tether diameter and eliminates power loses through long power feeds. A smart charger simply plugs into the back of the ROV when back on shore and indoors. Onboard sensors monitor the motor's status and will immediately cut power if there is a fault. Additional sensors track the battery and warn the operator of low levels. A low battery is not of any concern as the ROV can simply be pulled out of the water with the tether. Normal battery life is 5 to 8 hours of run time with a recharge time of 3 hours

A 480 line colour camera rotates from the center of the ROV to take advantage of the center window and gives the operator a 270 degree vertical field of view. The camera is tracked by an LED floodlight. This feature allows the operator to look in any direction whether it be straight up at the hull of a boat or straight down at the seabed while driving forward.

The DTG2 is sized for good stability in the water, but small enough to transport by hand to difficult locations. At 18.8 lb. you may lower it into the water by the tether over the side of the boat or even from a very high vantage point, such as a bridge. The nominal buoyancy of the ROV is set to neutral. It can be adjusted with an included set of stainless steel weights to fine tune the unit according to your preference and water conditions.

Commanding the DTG2 is simple using the lightweight and very portable controller. This familiar style of controller will ease the learning curve normally required to pilot ROVs.

The tethers are integrated into the controller and can be swapped out on the ROV if required. The tether is plugged into the rear face of the ROV at the water proof bulkhead and can easily be removed.
