MIT scientists have developed what they are calling M-Blocks. They are cube robots with no external moving parts. They are designed to self-assemble into any shape depending on what is needed in a given situation such as a chair, ladder or desk. You can see for yourself in the video how cool these little cubes are, they can even jump to get to the desired location.

The article mentions the resemblance to the Terminator II movie of microbots that self-assemble like ‘liquid steel’ but to me this seems like the first step to our world becoming like the movie ‘Transformers’.
