Engineering: Robotics Technician

At Deep Trekker we work hard and get stuff done, but we have fun doing it. We’re versatile and aren’t afraid to take on new challenges and learn new tricks.

We are currently seeking a skilled junior Robotics Technician with an electronics background, but with an aptitude for building robots. If you are a highly motivated technician who is passionate about problem-solving and building robots this might be the job for you.

Responsibilities:

  • Building electro-mechanical robot assemblies
  • Inspecting and testing robot assemblies
  • Troubleshooting and repairing robots
  • Prototyping and populating PCBs
  • Troubleshooting and repairing PCBs and PCAs
  • Wiring including; soldering, crimping and potting
  • Helping customers troubleshoot in-field problems over the phone

Skills and Qualifications:

  • Technician diploma in electronics or related field.
  • Ability to troubleshoot a variety of problems
  • Ability to reliably hand solder
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to work with multi-functional team
  • Ability to work with customers to solve in-field technical problems

Engineering: Robotics Software Engineer

At Deep Trekker, we work hard and get stuff done, but we have fun doing it. We’re versatile and aren’t afraid to take on new challenges and learn new tricks. With innovative and disciplined engineering design, Deep Trekker has experienced continued success and growth since our inception.

We are currently seeking a versatile and talented junior Robotics Engineer with an embedded software focus. If you are a highly motivated roboticist who is passionate about developing mobile robots and underwater drones this might be the job for you. In this role, you will work with little supervision to develop embedded software for new products and existing products.

Responsibilities:

  • Taking initiative on projects given only preliminary requirements
  • Creating embedded software for all products
  • Conducting research into new technologies
  • Finding ways to test and integrate new technologies
  • Collaborating with other engineers, technicians and sales/marketing
  • Getting your hands dirty when required

Skills and Qualifications:

  • University degree in Software, Electrical/Electronics, Mechatronics, Computer Science, or
  • related field.
  • Embedded software experience: RTOS, signal processing, communication protocols,
  • motor/motion control, image processing and user interfaces
  • Knowledge of C/C++
  • Knowledge of device drivers
  • Knowledge of AVR/ARM microcontrollers, DC motor drivers and sensors
  • Knowledge of control systems
  • Hands-on experience with mechatronic systems
  • Mechanical aptitude
