Shipping Line Cunard Celebrates 175 years of Transatlantic Travel

Thousands of people line River Mersey today as the "three queens" perform a sailing display to celebrate Cunard Shipping.

Today marks the 175 anniversary of the shipping lines first transatlantic trip from Liverpool to Halifax and Boston. The Queen Mary 2, the Queen Victoria and the Queen Elizabeth perform their synchronized display in the city where Samuel Cunard began his transatlantic shipping line in 1840. Read more.

This anniversary represents a wonderful journey for the Cunard shipping lines and is being celebrated by many. Watch video footage of the event here.
