Deep Trekker brings innovation to the DTG2 ROV with new sonar technology
Kiara Vallier | June 17, 2013
June 17th, 2013. Deep Trekker today announced they are launching new sonar technology, the Tritech Micron Sonar as an addition to the DTG2 ROV. This innovation in design brings new capabilities to the Deep Trekker by providing obstacle avoidance and target recognition. Deep Trekker has listened it their customers in 22 different countries and are currently working on many projects to increase the breadth of Deep Trekker products, and the sonar system is just the first step in the process.
The Tritech Micron Sonar is the smallest digital Compressed high intensity radio pulse (CHRIP) being produced in the world. CHRIP technology dramatically improves the range resolution compared to conventional sonars. The Tritech Micron is extremely compact, simple to operate and cost effective. Deep Trekker ROVs are the most portable system, allowing for the sonar technology to be added to any of the Deep Trekker products.
Deep Trekker is very excited to launch their newest innovation at Underwater Defence Technology Show in Hamburg, Germany. Sam Macdonald Deep Trekker President remarked “this is a big launch for us; it is a testament to how we are continuously improving and increasing our capabilities while still providing an affordable, accessible, and portable product. We are confident that with the sonar system Deep Trekker will be a trusted choice in for those requiring sonar technologies. “
Deep Trekker gives you eyes in the water in under 30 seconds. Inspect vessel hulls, fish nets, propellers, structures and seabeds with or without diver intervention. Deep Trekker can be used as a rapid response tool before determining safety for divers by providing sonar locating and a high resolution, real-time visual imaging. Even with this new addition, no top side power is required and extreme maneuverability is still obtainable with the patented pitching system for easy inspection and exploration.
