DTG2 Explores Below the Ice in the Arctic
Kiara Vallier | February 5, 2016
Last March Dr. Alex Nimmo Smith and Mr. Peter Ganderton from the Plymouth University Marine Physics Research Group set out on a research trip to the Norwegian Arctic. Among the materials that they took with them to perform their research project was a Deep Trekker DTG2 ROV supplied from Planet Ocean who resell Deep Trekker ROVs in the United Kingdom.
Mounted with crawler wheels and slightly positively buoyant, the Deep Trekker ROV was able to drive along the underside of the ice in a frozen fjord.
Hydro International covered the story back in November and posted a video of the ROV underside the ice. Read the story here.
