A look at the Deep Trekker DT640 Utility Crawler – designed to perform a multitude of underwater tasks, including ship hull inspections and water tank maintenance.
DT640 Utility Crawler | Underwater Inspection Vehicle
The DT640 Utility Crawler is the most versatile inspection vehicle of its kind. Its sleek, three-wheel body comes with a magnetic option, allowing it to crawl along ferrous materials in almost any direction – ship hull inspections and water tank maintenance has never been easier.
It is designed to be compact during transportation and extremely portable to allow operators to launch immediately at their inspection site. Skidless steering and zero turning radius allow the DT640 Utility Crawler to maneuver in tight areas and tough surfaces.
The DT640 can also work underwater up to 50m (164ft), all while live video streaming to the handheld controller at the surface. It is your go-to tool for a multitude of remote inspections, with application-specific add-ons for pressure washing, vacuuming, thickness testing, and more both above and below the water.

The DT640’s variety of attachments, transform the Utility Crawler to efficiently and safely clean and inspect your project-specific investigation areas:
Remove sediment buildup and clean hard to reach areas with the vacuum attachment.
Remotely pressure wash a surface underwater or on vertical angles.
Spot check areas of interest on ship hulls or structures to ensure their integrity with the Cygnus Thickness Gauge attachment.
With a pushing force up to 50 lbs (22.5 kg), scrape and clean away buildup on a ship hull, tank or other structure.
“Deep Trekker continues to innovate to provide the easiest to use and most portable inspection technologies, without compromising durability or capabilities,” commented Sam Macdonald, Deep Trekker President. “The DT640 Utility Crawler product line has been developed by listening to the needs of the industry and our customers.”
