Deep Trekker underwater ROVs keep divers out of radiologically controlled spaces, supporting ALARA dose objectives in spent fuel pools, reactor cavities, suppression pools, and intake structures. Operators collect high-definition video, imaging sonar data, and laser-scaled measurements from the topside, while manipulator arms support foreign material exclusion (FME) retrieval. Outage work sits on or near the critical path, where an incomplete inspection can extend the outage at a high daily cost. Compact vehicles deploy and recover quickly through restricted access points, and low-maintenance designs reduce decontamination time, so you capture complete data on the first deployment.
Equipped with high resolution cameras and lights, ROVs can easily maneuver around confined spaces in radiation areas without requiring a complete shutdown of plants, ensuring cost-effectiveness. Critical structures can be examined safely during VT-1 inspection and, with manipulator add-ons, maintenance tasks can be performed with efficiency during VT-3 inspections.
