Distance Lock Sensor for Underwater ROVs | Precise Vertical Surface Inspection with REVOLUTION & PIVOT

The Distance Lock Precision Sensor is an innovative add-on designed specifically for Deep Trekker's REVOLUTION and PIVOT ROVs, solving the common challenges of maintaining a consistent distance from vertical surfaces during underwater inspections. Unlike traditional ROV operations that require constant manual adjustments, the Distance Lock Sensor enables operators to lock in a specific horizontal distance from a target surface, such as dam walls, ship hulls, or underwater structures. This feature is especially valuable for extended surveys, allowing the ROV to move along the surface while maintaining a fixed, stable distance, ensuring reliable, high-quality visuals without frequent repositioning. It’s ideal for applications where consistent proximity to the inspection surface is essential for collecting accurate data, reducing operator fatigue, and maximizing efficiency. Engineered with precision and simplicity in mind, the sensor offers a locking range from 0.5 meters to 10 meters, with an impressive depth rating of 300 meters, making it suitable for various underwater environments. It is mounted externally on the ROV, the Distance Lock Sensor is forward-facing and capable of detecting flat surfaces up to approximately 45 degrees off-axis. While it cannot be mounted on rotating parts, this sensor integrates seamlessly with the ROV, displaying the exact distance from the target on the controller screen. Built to operate at 500kHz CHIRP frequency, it is compact and lightweight, with minimal drag and easy integration, making it an essential tool for operators who need precision and ease of use in challenging underwater inspections.
