Industrial Inspection & Analysis (“IIA”) is a high growth industrial inspection and testing company. IIA Nuclear Services provides nondestructive examination services with a focus on the commercial nuclear power industry. Their highly qualified and experienced staff provide nuclear power facilities maintenance services ranging from strategic solutions to equipment rental, ensuring plants are safe, clean and up to regulatory standards.
The DTG3 gives IIA Nuclear Services a tool to complete non-destructive inspections accurately, safely and conveniently. Jensen explained, “IIA Nuclear Services uses it (the DTG3) to perform visual examinations of water tank interiors and to monitor other equipment used to perform work inside the tanks.”
Visual examinations of water tank interiors are a common use for the DTG3. Portability, quick deployment and ease of use make the ROV ideal for such work. The HD camera and high efficiency LED lights ensure visibility in a variety of tanks and submerged infrastructure.
Jensen went into detail about using the vehicle to monitor additional equipment, “We hover directly above our ultrasonic examination robot and verify location. Prior to this, we had to try to do this with a camera on a pole from a distance.” By adding the DTG3 to their robotic fleet, IIA Nuclear Services is able to safely and effectively monitor their equipment to confirm location and ensure work is being completed to their high standards
Another feature Jensen noted as particularly useful was the ability to view “the camera and feed on an external monitor and recorder.”
The DTG3 has been an ideal tool for IIA Nuclear Services with Jensen highlighting the “small size and weight” as especially convenient for the team. At 8.5kg (18.7lbs) the ROV is easy to transport to a variety of jobs. Battery tubes under 100whr also allow for transport on both passenger and cargo aircraft.
At Deep Trekker we pride ourselves on empowering our customers. When you buy an ROV from Deep Trekker, you buy the team, the ideas, the vision, and the support.
“I personally wish we had discovered your company several years ago,” shared Jensen. “The price and size of the vehicle fit both our budget and our desire to have a hand-launched vehicle.”
Of our dedicated service team Jensen said, “We did not have to use much, but the times that I reached out during production of the vehicle, I was always able to get a quick response.”
The Deep Trekker team sincerely thanks William Jensen and Industrial Inspection & Analysis Nuclear Services for their time and effort in sharing this story. To learn more about IIA head to their LinkedIn page.
