Deep Trekker is excited to announce the appointment of José Albornoz Farias as the General Manager for the company’s office in Chile.

This strategic addition to the team marks a significant step in Deep Trekker’s commitment to expanding its presence in Latin America, where demand for advanced underwater robotics solutions continues to grow.

With a strong background in business development, leadership, and sales, José will lead the company’s operations across Chile and the broader region, ensuring that customers receive the personalized support and service they need to meet their operational objectives.

Extensive Expertise Across Key Sectors

José brings over 18 years of professional experience across several key industries, including mining, energy, and aquaculture - sectors that are increasingly adopting remote-operated technologies like those offered by Deep Trekker. He holds an MBA from Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María, a Master’s in Economics from Universidad de Chile, and has held senior leadership roles in prominent companies such as Hilti, Sandvik, and Skava.

During his tenure at these companies, José developed a keen understanding of the unique business and technical challenges that companies in the Latin American market face. His experience spans business unit management, profit and loss oversight, sales leadership, and long-term strategic planning. This breadth of expertise positions him perfectly to lead Deep Trekker’s initiatives in the region, including driving business growth, managing customer relationships, and strengthening the company’s position as a key player in underwater inspection technologies.

José's new position comes at an opportune time, given the rapid adoption of ROVs in industries like mining and aquaculture, which require advanced solutions for tasks such as asset inspection, environmental monitoring, and maintenance. His familiarity with these industries will be instrumental in aligning Deep Trekker’s product offerings with the specific needs of clients in Chile and South America.

Strengthening Deep Trekker’s Local Presence

One of José’s primary objectives is to improve Deep Trekker’s ability to provide hands-on, localized support to customers throughout Chile and Latin America. This will involve more than just selling advanced ROV technology; it’s about honoring the principals that Deep Trekker was founded on - establishing long-term relationships with customers by offering them tailored solutions and specialized training that meet their operational requirements.

Under José’s leadership, Deep Trekker’s Chile office will serve as a key hub for customer support, where engineers and technicians can access product demonstrations, personalized training programs, and after-sales service. With industries such as mining and aquaculture facing increasingly complex operational environments, the need for reliable and efficient underwater inspection solutions is more pressing than ever. José is well-equipped to guide customers through the selection and implementation of ROVs that best suit their needs, ensuring they maximize the operational and economic benefits of these technologies.

José will also oversee the technical support team in Chile, ensuring rapid response times for service requests and maintenance - a critical factor for industries that operate under tight production schedules - while aligning with Deep Trekker's commitment to delivering world-class customer support.
