October 15, 2015 Ontario, Canada. Today, Deep Trekker released an exclusive video showcasing their new diveable control system. Designed for both commercial, military and recreation applications; the new video proves how exciting it is to dive with an ‘underwater drone’.
The Diveable Control System integrates seamlessly with Deep Trekker line of remotely operated vehicles (ROVs). Deep Trekker delivered what customers have been asking for by taking their easy-to-use controller and making it more robust with the ability to withstand depths of up to 75 M (250 ft). The integrated handheld super-bright screen makes viewing what the camera is seeing easy for divers.
“This is really going to change how people explore wrecks, reefs, and other areas of the oceans,” commented Sam Macdonald, Deep Trekker President. “Now divers can explore areas that were too dangerous or small for them, or send it ahead while cave diving.”
The new control system can be equipped with up to 150 M of tether giving divers the room to keep a safe distance from dangerous or confined areas that they are investigating.
“This is all possible through the unique Deep Trekker remotely operated vehicle’s design,” stated Macdonald. “With on-board batteries our ROVs do not require generators or topside power, meaning the unit is completely self-contained.”

The applications for a diveable control system such as this are numerous. Environmentalist and those in the academic field can now add a tool to their work that allows their divers to explore fragile ecosystems and determine if samples or related activities are needed before swimming and potentially disrupting the area.
“The exclusive video is something everyone has to watch,” continued Macdonald. “Every time I see it, I want to be back out on the water with my ROV.”
