ROV under iceBritish Columbia-based Company Cold Water Divers Inc. used a pair of Deep Trekker remotely operated vehicles (ROVs) to conduct and extensive search mission that lasted for seven days working up to14 hours a day in temperatures as low as -15 degrees Fahrenheit.

Wallace’s father, Ronald Sr., and his family were determined to not give up the hope of finding Ronnie. They wanted closure and to bring Ronnie home to have a proper burial. Ron Sr. put together a team of people and equipment, including BC Company Cold Water Divers Inc., to perform a 7 day search of the team using camera

Amid a blizzard, the team set up in small heated tents over top of holes drilled in the twelve inch thick lake ice to use Deep Trekker ROVs to complete 14 hour a day search of the lake bottom. The temperature outside was never above freezing and dipped as low as -15 degrees Fahrenheit.

On the 7th day, the team had grown weary and approached the last area of investigation that time would allow (hole #12 of 18 that were mapped out for search). After searching over three square miles, on the last day in the last hour Ronnie was found!

The mission was a success and Ronnie was able to come home to Texas for a proper burial with his family.
