KITCHENER, Ontario: Demand for Deep Trekker ROVs and utility crawlers continues to grow, and we have officially expanded our global headquarters in Kitchener, Ontario, to accommodate this growth. The expansion adds approximately 18,000 square feet of space, increasing our capacity to design, build, test, and support our vehicles for customers around the world.

Cody Warner, Vice President, Commercial, describes how the expansion supports this growing demand for underwater ROVs:
"The expansion of our facility has allowed us to create efficiency across our processes, enabling us to have capacity to deliver larger contracts in shorter timelines. Deep Trekker's growth includes contracts with larger entities that require ROVs by the dozens or even hundreds, and with our expanded facility and increased team size, we are able to deliver reliably on these types of contracts."
In recent years, more organizations have turned to our vehicles to inspect submerged assets, support search and recovery, monitor net pens, and complete work in hazardous and hard to reach environments. That growth spans every market we serve, including aquaculture, marine science, infrastructure, shipping, port security, defense, public safety, energy, and commercial diving. To meet that demand, we needed more room, and in September 2026 we celebrated the grand opening of our expanded headquarters.

Chad Plesa-Naden, Engineering Director at Deep Trekker, explains what the new space means for the team:
“Over the past ten years, we’ve moved through three buildings and grown more than tenfold, each move driven by the growth needed to meet our customers’ needs. What excites me most about this space is what it lets our team do. With expanded in-house engineering, R&D, and test areas, we can design, test, and refine vehicles more quickly than ever, which means better products in our customers’ hands sooner.”

The new space gives every part of our business room to grow. Expanded manufacturing and production areas allow us to keep pace with orders across our full product lineup, including the DTG3, PHOTON, PIVOT, REVOLUTION, and SPECTRA ROVs, the MAG, VAC, and VAC MAX utility crawlers, and the A-200 and A-150 pipe crawlers. Additional engineering space supports the product development our customers are asking for, while larger service, sales, and customer support areas help us respond quickly as more of our vehicles go into the field.

"This expansion lets us grow within our operating model, not just around it,” says Colin Vander Glas, Operations Director at Deep Trekker. “By redesigning how work moves through our facility and strengthening the processes and systems behind it, we can scale with confidence and keep pace with our customers' expectations as our product line grows."
The Kitchener expansion is one part of a wider effort to keep up with demand and stay close to our customers. We recently opened an office in the United States, and we also operate offices in Chile and Europe, with more locations planned as our customer base continues to grow.

The expanded headquarters is already in full use. Alongside increased production, we recently hosted our annual Strategy & Communications Event in the new space, bringing employees from every department together to align on goals and initiatives for the growth ahead.

With more room to build, test, and serve, we are ready to meet today's demand and to keep growing our team and product lineup for the demand still to come. Our customers increasingly rely on portable ROVs and crawlers as everyday tools, and this expansion makes sure we can keep delivering the quality and responsiveness they count on.

At Deep Trekker, we design and manufacture portable, customizable underwater ROVs and utility crawlers for inspection and intervention in hazardous and hard to reach environments. Built for reliability and low maintenance, our vehicles are used by customers around the world in aquaculture, infrastructure, defense, public safety, energy, marine science, and more. We back every vehicle with exceptional service from our headquarters in Kitchener and our offices in the United States, Chile, and Europe. Deep Trekker is a Halma company.
