How Much would an Ocean cost?

Kiara Vallier   |   May 22nd, 2015

Ever wonder what the oceans are worth in economic terms?

The Value of the Ocean

Now of course the true value of one of our world's most precious resources is priceless but the World Wildlife Fund in association with The Global Change Institute at the University of Queensland and The Boston Consulting group put together a report that breaks down how much the ocean is worth and why.

The total? Around $ 24 Trillion. Now that's a lot.

Despite being highly valued in economic terms, the oceans are home to a mass amount of the world's animal and fish populations and span across the majority of the Earth. Life on Earth would be impossible without the presence of our oceans which is why we are so committed to ensuring that everyone has access to easily explore the depths regardless of who they are.
