Sourcewell Contract Awarded to Deep Trekker for Unmanned ROV Systems

Deep Trekker is proud to have been awarded the Sourcewell contract for Unmanned and Remotely Operated Vehicle Systems with Related Technology and Services. Sourcewell’s cooperative purchasing program will help Deep Trekker customers access our technology more easily, without using traditional, laborious bid and solicitation procedures.

Understanding Sourcewell's Competitive Procurement Process

As a professional in the procurement field, you are supposed to be skeptical, and we do not blame you for this! That is why we want to provide you with additional information. Sourcewell’s competitive process is as follows:

Competitive Procurement Process:

  1. Scope of Solicitation
    a. Determine the scope of each competitive solicitation by identifying the needs of our public agency clients through daily interaction and guidance with clients.
  2. Authorization from Sourcewell Board of Directors
    a. Before initiating a solicitation, they seek permission from the publicly elected Sourcewell Board of Directors
  3. Public Notice and Advertising
    a. Upon approval from the board, a public notice and advertisement gets posted on the Sourcewell government website
  4. Proposal Receipt and Opening
    a. Sourcewell accepts web-based, digital submissions through the Sourcewell Procurement Portal. Responses through the portal are secure and inaccessible until after the published due date and time. They conduct a public-proposal opening time, date, and place as specified in the RFP
  5. Objective Evaluation
    a. At the proposal opening, Sourcewell evaluates the responsiveness of each proposal received. The evaluation committee then presents its recommendations to the chief procurement officer (CPO) for final review and approval.
  6. Official Award
    a.Upon approval by the CPO and ratification by the Sourcewell Board of Directors, we award the recommended supplier(s) a four-year contract with the potential for a one-year extension. The Sourcewell Procurement Department sends a Notice of Award or Non-Award to all respondents via email.
  7. Posting and review of approved contract documents
    a. Sourcewell maintains a complete procurement file, and contract documentation is posted on our website. We periodically review all awarded contracts for compliance and effectiveness. In addition, Sourcewell may review and approve price and product changes at the supplier’s request.
